First day of Chinese New Year

Tom~
Today, i drove in by myself to the north...visiting relatives in malaysia. I took lots of photos and uploaded here. Having a bad jam over at JB custom but traffic are moving.
Went to Kluang....my hometown , driving on the north south highway can be fun and relaxing. U can speed on straight roads but do be careful when you pass overhead bridges, because there would be police speed traps.
We had Lao Hei Dinner at Palm Garden Seafood , the food was not bad, we had big servings...as you can see. In the night, neighboorhood kids played firecrackers on the street discreetly as police would patrol around the areas.

Friday afternoon shopping in Chinatown

(`,`) Tom ~
Since everybody is in the CNY festive mood, i must also join in the fun. I took half day leave, went shopping by myself in Chinatown, parked my car at the free parking space at Pearl's Hill Park, had Koo Kee yong tau foo for lunch (yummy!!). Then, I went to Lim Chee Yuen to queue for Bak Kwa (joined the Kiasu Singaporeans...hee), since there were not much people queuing up, i bought 1 packet for my mum and 1 packet for my In-Laws. The stage has also been set up for tomorrow's CNY eve programs. Red is in the air, and stalls are having clearance sales since tomorrow is new year's eve......
Darling , the Bak Kwa is nice right? It tastes different from others, worth every dollar and the queueing up!! :)

Post CNY blues....

Mich~
Time flies...in 2 days' time, we will say goodbye to the year of the "rooster", and welcome the year of the "dog". Office seems a bit quiet these days, with people taking leave, either to spring clean or do marketing for the new year. Thus, even the mood to start my "engine" is a bit procrastinated too. Everyone seems to be postponing a lot of work and assignments to "after CNY". Even my boss asks me to have a good new year, thereafter, we will come back to "review our processes". Yes, this seems to be the buzzword in our office these days....(as you know, we are up to our neck with our jobs).
So, can you imagine what the office will become after CNY? Who will be given which share of the pie....? Nobody knows...I do not wish to speculate further.
For now, my wish to be peaceful, happy and healthy....Happy CNY!
To my ONE: May you enjoy good health and good luck too! Mich is here for you...JIA YOU!!

**ToM**
Yup, everyone is in the chinese new year mood....last minute shopping in chinatown, most of my colleagues went for long leave too.
In the year of Dog , i would like to wish everybody who knows me - bloggers, friends, loved ones and my Dearest Darling Wife...(",) happiness, good health, prosperity and a Happy New Year!

The Charm Beneath

Mich~
Getting insufficient sleep these few days...over a few VCDs..yah, busy catching HK serials. I have been watching the serial titled "The Charm Beneath". Very nice and enticing....it is a nice show, set in the HK in 1930s, about a big and wealthy family, the tussles and happenings within this family. I particularly like the interesting conversations that they engage in the show, very entertaining and amusing in the use of words...
For more information, check this out.....

In the midst of watching the show, I get to relax and de-stress...what a great way to lighten my load.
Yes, probably will spend the Chinese New Year long holidays in this manner....yes...maybe....

Chinatown

Tom~
Phew!! It was crowded at Chinatown on Sunday evening, after the showers in the afternoon....look at the pictures and you will know why. Well, we bough
t cuttlefish and some other goodies.
After that, we had dinner @ "An Ji Seafood Fish" in chinatown food centre. The fish looks yummy yummy..right?

My Darling got a scare from a madman when we were strolling on the streets. I am glad that we both are safe , protecting her forever....:)

Every cloud has a silver lining......

Mich~
I do not know what's wrong with me for the past few days. I have been moody, sad and anxious these days. Yah, guess the fundamental reason is the "crisis" we face at work, with the forthcoming change in leadership and management style....(not to mention the increase in workload!!) Yes, I know that I should not be bogged down with work, but a part of me is still the pessimistic and worrying type.
Comforting to know that someone in office shares the same sentiments as me..that "Ah Gou" (dog..) lor...who else?? Now, we wonder whether the change will have a "chain effect" on the resources in office.
To my ONE : Sorry if I have indirectly vented my anger on you over the tiniest issue/matter...promise will cool down.....
Well, I should snap out of it, and have a hearty weekend! Yeah, futile for me to bring work woes to home, since I cannot alleviate/eliminate (possible meh??) the work woes...now, i can only pray that i can find the silver lining beneath the clouds...soon.....
Let's see how it goes..............
Weekend is here again..tomorrow, my plans?? Stay at home, help MUM to make love letters...it has been a yearly ritual for us...Ah Gou: will provide the recipe next time...yah, need to consult my "adviser" first.....(my mum lah!)

CNY Mood at Chinatown

Mich~~
It had been a relaxing weekend...i went with my ONE to Chinatown. Wow, the cars was jammed from bumper to bumper...the people, only one idiom to describe...."people mountain..people sea". Guess everyone was in CNY mood, and it is a tradition for everyone to go Chinatown to soak in the atmosphere. Yes, think nobody would complain about the huge crowd..because that is what makes the mood brimming and overflowing.
In the end, we only had dinner there, combed through the crowd, and bought our usual stuff for Mum. By the time we left for Home Sweet Home, our hands and legs were tired out (from the carrying and walking), and our minds were fatigued...phew! What a night!
Today is back to work...work and more work. Morale is getting low here, as you remember, I mentioned that we suffered 2 losses last week..(resignations). Even though nobody mention anything, but the mood (quiet, serious and sombre) in office tells all about our feelings deep inside our hearts.
Well, life still goes on...In order to be financially independent, I guess I should stop complaining, and get back to my life and work....and more work...and my life.

Rise and shine

Thomas:
What a great feeling to see the sun up and rising today...hee hee, hope today won't rain. But i guess it's the rainy season....hopefully it won't rain during Chinese New Year.
Boss not around today, quite relaxing, checking emails and surf net.
Later I will go for lunch with colleagues in harbourfront centre, then shop around.....
Ladies do remember to check out Harbourfront Centre, lots of shops...having Chinese New Year Sales too.......:)

Departure.....

Mich~~
Suffered double blow at work today....my boss and colleague resigned..almost at the same time. I wonder what else is next....(who knows...) I guess parting is part and parcel of life, no one else has control over it....is the workplace getting bleary to some people out there, or is it part of the natural attrition? I do not know, will probably have the answer when I leave the company in future....
Anyway, keeping my spirits high for the weekend...woohoo! Hope the weather would decide to be kinder to us, so that we could do some new year marketing!

Save for a Rainy Day

Oh, so my ONE finally blogged...haha..yes, we went out, but did not buy anything. I looked around for digi cameras, but am spolit for choice. No, I have not decided on which one, need to do more information searching. My colleague (u know who lah) just told me today that the brand and model I liked is no good!! Hmmn..what should I do?
I could not believe it...when I went out for just 4 hours yesterday, I bumped into 3 friends. And I finally saw my gal pal's other half...haha, glad for her, she found her soulmate... Guess everyone was trying to shop around when the rain stopped for a while yesterday. Phew! But the news report says that more rain is expected over the next few days.
Rain..rain..go away....
The rain makes me think about saving for a rainy day.....do you have this habit too?

Pleasant morning..enticing songs...

Thomas:
Today is a rainy day but i am bringing my Love for a day out, hmm, seems like i am neglecting her? Maybe spend less time on work....... Might go down to rochor look around for new year goodies for my In-Laws, then go Sim Lim Square look around for digital cameras. She might want to go Citilink or Orchard buy new year shoes and clothes......
Michelle:
Ok, I am writing the blog while listening to Fish Leong's songs...What a nice way to start a wet wet holiday mood.
No plans for today yet, but I am sure we'll think of something...what a good break from work, we must fully enjoy and utilise it....But the sky is overcast again......Yah, we have yet to buy new year goodies for dearest mum.... Need to reward her for her endless, lovely, hard work...Ha ha, dearest mum is cooking, so no need to worry about lunch.
My ONE is still in slumberland....well, he would not wake up till it is time to take brunch, as usual.... Of course, I would keep myself occupied, no worries about that...I need to help mum prepare lunch...

I hv been telling my ONE to contribute to the blog..oh oh..what happened to him? Nah...he is juz lazy to write...(I think)....hello? U there? If yes, pls write......

Mich~~
Stuck at home...it was raining the whole day, since last night. Our plans to go out had to be put off. I need to buy shoes, buy a digital camera..blah blah...ok, shall do it next week, if time and the weather permits. Well, thought it would be a good time to stay at home and do some spring-cleaning. And yes, i did...finally! Hmmn..now, my wardrobe looks better...
I finally bought a nice photo album to house my ROM pics..yes! Now, I need to put the photos all together in the nice album..haha..no idea how much time i would take, but i would definitely do it!!

Take care...friend!

My friend is going back to Aussieland after her vacation..i wish her all the best, and hope that she can fulfil her dreams of becoming a surgeon. She is a great and strong-willed girl, setting out to realise her dreams, despite all the hurdles and scepticism she faced in the beginning. From her, I realised how weak most of us are, and whether we are really pursuing what we want in the course of our lives... I hv no answer, and do not have the courage to place all these questions in my mind and search for an answer...sometimes, we are too caught up in our daily routine to search our inner soul...

Rainy Thurs

Michelle:
It has been a wet, rainy and cloudy day...was almost caught in the rain (phew! left office on time). I am still not feeling well from my sickness, wondering if it is due to the weather these days...sigh.
My presentation went smoothly, lucky me. I was feeling pretty anxious this morning, thinking of the crowd which I would face and all the faces staring at me. Luckily, things went smoothly...my boss was there...hope he would see the effort I put in.

Another boring Thursday day at work .............

Boring wed...2 more days to go to weekend!!

Today is the first day of our blog.
Another working day, I am preparing for a presentation tomorrow, so it was busy like hell in office today. Countless amendments to the slides and discussions with boss...sigh...Right now, I am feeling a bit nervous, better think of what suit I should wear tonight.

We are counting down to our wedding..another 367 days to go. I am excited at the thought, but at the same time, it is the start of another chapter of our lives. I do not know if I can handle the new role well, but would try my best. I guess it will be hard work and stressful times ahead.

Thomas
Feeling quite tired lately, due to working and studying. But i must work hard for our future no matters what it take.
