Dempsey Hill

We wanted to go somewhere special.....
My first impression of this place was "Why so dark??"...I do not know if it was a deliberate attempt to maintain the mystery of this place (thus explaining for the lack of sufficient lighting along the pathways), but I really felt uncomfortable finding my way around there.
It was our first time exploring this place, therefore we decided to take things slowly, and take a stroll around before deciding on our venue for our meal.
Do be careful if you venture there next time, 'cos there was some places with valet parking. So if you want to enjoy free parking, do take more time to drive around and find your own lot.

As we walked along, we started to realise that this much hyped-about place offers mainly high end restaurants and wine bars, which left us with limited choices in looking for more affordable fare....:) Quite disappointing to me, considering so much fanfare about the place....

Personally, I would have second thoughts in going there next time....it is perfectly fine to venture there once in a while, but the high-end restaurants and limited lighting leaves me with some reservations....

One typical restaurant...one needs more effort to find out what it is offering

I took care of my nephew's and niece's tortoises for a few days....Yesterday, i brought them to my office, it's real fun!! I took them outside to the open area to catch a breath of fresh air during lunchtime.....I can see that they were having fun suntanning too...:) see the oil tanks in the picture?
This ZJ one is crawling around my table....

New NTUC at Buangkok

A new NTUC had just opened at Buangkok, including one kopithaam and other new shops coming up too. It's more convenient for us now, when we need to buy groceries and shop for daily necessities. It is just right out of the exit from Buangkok MRT. We checked it out tonight....!

New kids on the block

Our neighbour finally engaged a contractor to renovate their house....'cos for a while, we thought HDB took back their flat. But when we saw a few indian men deliver the cement and tiles and place them outside the flat, it would mean more dust and noise from the renovation works. Sigh, we could have a few weeks of dusty and noisy environment.

Friday

A poor rat was reported to be seen at my office. Apparently, a vendor had reported that they saw a rat appearing in our data center. Thus, the service support dept was alerted to track down the rat. The station manager assigned his service support operation guys to set up a mouse trap on thursday evening to catch the rat. And eventually, after the rat was caught, it was drowned to death in the big drain outside our office. What a cruel way to sentence the rat to its death. Could they just release the rat? Or not?
Now you see it, now you don't...........
