29th June....Special Day in my Life

Tom~
My Love and I went to Shangri-La Hotel to celebrate our wedding anniversary at (The Line), indulging in the spread of seafood buffet. The buffet was yummy, with lots of goodies, raw sushi, salmon fish, octopus, fresh seafood, oysters, prawns, various types of ice cream and different kinds of foods, ranging from cakes to fruits, cooked mee, northern indian cuisine, pasta, pizza, beef, ham, curry and not forgetting my Love's Favourite choc fondue...hehee...strawberries and biscuits covered with rich choc fudge....etc....... :)
Of course, they also serves free flow of juices and red wine, a real spread of yummy food. This comes with a price of $88 per person, not quite cheap, but considering the nice ambience, cool, sumptuous delicacies, think it was definitely worth the indulgence once in a while. I must also say that the service level of the crew was excellent...they greet u with a smile, and delivered prompt and great service.....
And the end of the nice evening, we were full in our stomachs, and happy in our hearts. I guess this special occasion is worth the splurge...and hopefully there wld be many more such happy occasions to come...great!! See my happy smile on the face, and the nice ambience of the resturant...the decor seems to blend in well with the name...i.e. THE LINE..check out the linear decor used, even the colours (white and orange) are cool man!

Shopping at GSS

Mich~
Went shopping with my ONE at Orchard yesterday...of course, u can imagine the crowd there, everyone wants to "chiong" at GSS. We were at Takashimaya, and I must say that the bedlinen sales were quite worth it....some of the prices of bedlinen were reduced by close to 50%...wow!! In the end, we bought goodies worth of $110...heehee..we bought fitted bedsheet, one bolster case, and one hot flask for mummy!! I knew she had been wanting to get a new flask, but she always hold it back and say that the old one can still be used. So, in the end, I bought one for her. We also walked to Far East Plaza, the happening place for youngsters, to check out the new fashion, and funky items......there wasnt much sales there though....So, we were content with window shopping, and finally headed home after a tiring shopping day.
Oh yah, our king size bed is finally placed in our new home.....!! Finally...And u can imagine the excitement upon seeing our new bed...Of course, we cannot sit/lie on the bed, till the big day. Guess we will live with this superstition for another 6 months....:)

Soccer Fever Part II

Mich~
That day, overheard the radio deejay mentioning that Kaka, the brazilian midfielder, is arguably the best looking player in the World Cup 2006. What do you guys think? And he is only 24 years old, wow!! Young, good-looking and raring to go, isnt it what every world cup team coach wants? Honestly, I have not watched him play (somehow, missed all the brazil matches....)..but I thought his looks are hmmmn....so so lah...
Should be able to find better looking ones in the field, hor? Of course, my views are subjective, so everyone is entitled to his own opinion.
Tomorrow, there are more matches (4 in total!!)...Phew!! How to cope, tell me? We would have to alternate between 2 channels (i suppose??), and get interrupted sleep....(wake up in the middle of the night....zombie...lie on the sofa, weary-eyed....if u'v been thru it, and know what I mean...). Really siong leh!!
But i guess tomorrow night, I will make it a point to wake up at 3 am....haha..'cos my favourite team is playing...hmmn........England, hoping that they will get at least a draw, in order to qualify.

Soccer Fever

Mich~
Woke up at 12 am this morning to watch the Eng-Trinidad & Tobago match, so by this morning, i was feeling heavy-headed and groggy. Anyway, the enthusiasm only occurs every 4 yrs, so I guess it was worth it.
As for the match this morning, I would say that the first 80 minutes of the match was goal-less, and there were only a few heart-stopping moments, eventually saved by the goalkeeper/defender. So, my ONE and I were slouching and fidgeting on the sofa, anticipating for more excitement and shouts across the block of flats in the neighbourhood......waited and waited (fell asleep during half time)...and my eyes were also closing for several non-sensational moments....
Alas! The 2 late goals from Eng came sometime in the 83th and 91st minute, securing a victory for them. England secured their place in the Round of 16 of the FIFA World Cup with a 2-0 victory, yes yes!! More excitement and pretty boys on the field...to keep me entertained!!
There are more matches coming along the way......keeping my fingers crossed for being able to keep myself awake........

Unexpected events.....

Mich~
I feel sad, because my LOVE is feeling down too...he is affected by the recent results which he just obtained, and wasnt too happy about it. Really, I do not know what I can do to cheer him up, and hopefully, things will turn out fine eventually....i am praying hard for him here...And i also wish to encourage him to strive on, no matter what obstacles may come by. I do not know what else I can do for him, but guess I will leave him alone for some time, and let him cool down first.
If u are reading, please persevere....life would not be what it is, without its ups and downs...maybe God (whichever God u believe in) wants us to go through some hardships, before we see the light at the end of the tunnel....isn't life like this at times?
For me, life still goes on...and i guess i am trying to take stock of my life nowdays...'cos some events have start to set me thinking about my path and next step in life....well, guess so...am trying to put on my thinking cap now.

Fulfilling Monday

Tom~
My Love and i went to do our hair yesterday, getting ready for our Wedding Photoshoot next month....I think we are so excited about it.
My Love did rebonding for her hair and i coloured my hair with brown colour....hee hee, and my colleagues was saying that I looked younger. I had never dyed my hair before and this is the first time that i had some much brown shades on my hair.....hahaha.
Today, there is so much work to be done, had to test out some new laser printers and had to finish up my evaluation reports. And the office seemed to be in a mess....phew!

Traffic Police

Tom~
Yesterday while I was on my way to school, saw this TP hiding and squating by the road side taking photos of motorists illegally U-turning into JTC. What an despicable act!
Understand that nowadays TP having an islandwide operation, everyday u can see TP WRX and bikes on highway and almost everywhere on the roads. Maybe they are trying to earn back the tax...hee hee...
So just be careful on the roads, and drive within the speed limits. Be always on the alert for TP. Look at this, the famous TP 130-horsepower Diversion Yamaha 1000cc motorbike.

Disheartening news...

Today, heard some disheartening news in office...Again, there are 2 colleagues who have resigned...though it is part and parcel of office life, but somehow, morale would be affected amongst everyone. Discussions would be centered on the responsibility that the rest of us would shoulder....hmmn, vicious cycle again....and again...news soon broke out in the office (of course, no secrets here...). Everyone wants to know what is going on around us. Who doesn't?
Btw, I had quite a good bargain at the GSS...haha, bot 3 pieces of clothes, but of course, was poorer by $50....guess it was quite a deal, huh? So soon, u would see me donning new clothing. Actually, retail therapy helps (to a certain extent), in relieving stress! This is a time when you can find some excuse to buy stuff, without feeling guilty and with a good genuine reason. It does help, when you look at your "goods" at the end of the day.
I think you guys can head down to bugis village for some cool deals. There are many many shops there, and the tops are generally selling at $9.90 per piece....not bad huh?
Despite the great deals I caught over the weekend, I was still quite saddened with some ongoings around me.....I do not know why, someone just made a fuss over the weekend, and my mood was noticeable spoilt by the event. Sigh, shall not elaborate, 'cos there could be repurcussions if I do so.....
Anyway, the rest of the week goes on, and on and on............
(Ah Gou: You can head down to Bugis Village after u cross the huge traffic junction at Bugis Junction....u know, the one u nd to cross to get to the famous temple. For tees, they come mostly in free sizes, so might hv a bit of problem for u. For bottoms, shd be fine, as there are various sizes...happy shopping!)

Sales everywhere

Tom~
Yesterday afternoon, I went down to Suntec City and did the setup for my company booth at the PC Show 2006
, and in the end, I couldn't make it for my class at night. Well, it seemed to me that during the month of June, it is not only for school holidays and travel season but also a good time for sales and more sales. There are newspaper advertisements everywhere, promoting about various sales.
And we have the Great Singapore Sales going on...Of course, the PC Show is something worth looking out for if you are thinking of getting any cool gadget...so head down to the PC Show, deals worth buying!! Alright, till then...hope that you can enjoy all the sales too...!
