Trip to Polyclinic

I went to the polyclinic to remove the stitches for my four "keyhole" wounds this morning. The crowd/queue for registration was homogenous, and I spent more time (about an hour and half) waiting for registration than the actual procedure to remove the stitches (just a matter of 10 mins)....Sigh....:(
The nurse patiently removed the stitches to my wounds, assuring me that there would be no pain. Yes, it was true, but I felt some slight sensation at the point when she pulled out the threads......she told me the wounds were healing fine, and did not require any further bandage. However, I must keep the wounds dry and clean.....
Keke...here is a peek into one of the "post-stitch" wound around my belly button.....

Out of Action

Mich~
Will be out of action for at least 2 weeks....what started out as a gastric pain turned out to be something else unexpected - appendicitis....alas!!
In the end, on that fateful sunday night, I had to be warded to be observed, as the doctors suspected acute appendicitis..took class B1 ward, but in the end, was admitted to class A1... :P dont ask me why...i heard it happens at times.....Within the next 12 hours, the CT scan showed that my appendix was inflamed...doctor told me "you are already put on the emergency waiting list for the operation"....arrrhem..I beg ur pardon?? Almost couldnt believe what I heard.
The operation was supposed to last for an hour, but I was pushed to the OT at 6pm, and came back to my ward at 9.30 pm...what happened??? duno....din even have the energy to ask the doctors. Whatever it is, I am awake liao....(from the GA), but was in great pain....
Sigh.....
The next 2 days, I was almost confined to my bed, except for the occasional toilet trips and mealtime. OMG, the trip to the toilet, which usually takes less than 5 mins, now takes about 15 mins...really no easy feat.....it might sound exaggerating, but i can tell u that only people who have been through it empathises with me, i swear!
I seemed to be taking the most number of pills in my life during these 2 days...painkillers, antibiotics, gastric, etc....whatever the nurses give, I swallowed :(
Thanks to my colleagues, families and friends for their well wishes and devoting care during this period.
And I must say the nurses and doctors at the hospital are wonderful people, patient, kind, calm and caring. I salute them!!!
While you are reading this, I am now resting at home, trying to figure out how I could spend the rest of the holidays and 2 weeks keeping myself occupied at home.
Yes, I am getting bored..........
Anyhow, I will SURVIVE.
Merry x'mas and happy new year !!
