Disgusting act....

Mich~
This grossly unhappy experience today still left me in a pretty bad mood....And i totally regretted my mild action today, should have been stronger and harsher..
This is the scenario:
Was travelling on the escalator...
This man walks hastily up, and stops at the same step beside me....
Wary, I turned and looked at him...
He was in shirt and tie, holding a map in his hand...
He said "SG is very hot and humid"...
I courteously replied "yes"...
He said "I'm from Cananda, going back tomr"....
I said "oh, i see"...
He asked "where are you from?"...
I replied "SG".....
Then......................
"What is your name.......?" (of course, this came from the animal beside me)
Phew!! Can u imagine? This happened in Orchard, right in the midst of the crowd and throngs of shoppers?
I hastily shut him off by saying "NO, Sorry..."
I am regretting now...
Should have confronted him, and made him lose face in front of the people....haha.
But i did not, was in too shock a state to think rationally.......*#%%%**
Perhaps should not have made a big hu ha over it..but then again, it caught me totally off guard and unexpected!! What the h*** was he trying to do?? On second thoughts, should have made him totally embarrassed !! But alas, I had not reached that stage of skills to outsmart him.....
Or....is this their way of getting to know people???

Magnificent......

Mich~
Equinox used to be a place which I have heard of, but never been there...pardon my innocence, because I always felt that dining there would be a very lavish affair. I finally had a chance to enjoy such indulgence last week....I even made the effort to dress up (just a little more formal) for this dinner, so as to blend in well with the ambience. There are a few restaurants located on this 70th floor area, and we chose to dine at Jaan, which serves western cuisine. Once I reached the level, I was awed by the splendid view of the city area of SG, and could not help taking pictures to capture the scenery.....I mean it is not always that I can to feel on top of this small island, so I do not wish to miss the memories.
I guess I shall not elaborate or "promote" the cuisine there, because the name & location of the place would speak millions about the dining experience there. The food would have to be of a certain standard to deserve a placing there, right?
In my opinion, this place is worth patronising if you wish to enjoy leisurely time enjoying the view, and have all the time to immerse in the ambience....
The nite view...taken after spending close to 2 hours there! Pity it was a bit blurrr....
SJ: Would advise that you make reservations prior to going, because by the time we ate the main course of our dinner (ard 730pm), the tables were all taken.

Bliss...

Mich~
It really felt very nice to have the luxury of napping in a cool, rainy afternoon. I managed to enjoy such peaceful moments for the past 2 days, and am thankful for the wet, cooling weather to allow me the luxury of it. Sometimes, you really need a little break to re-charge your body. Even though I knew that work could be piling up with me taking a break on last Friday, I decided to give myself this small reward. I am sure you can understand the bliss of sleeping the afternoon away, without having to worry about being pressed for time, and other stuff......
There were also quite a few tasks I completed for the past 2 days...enjoying a nice, memorable dinner with my one, meeting colleagues and ex-colleague, making a major decision, carrying on with the search for a suitable LCD tv for my new house..alas!!
Guess I really need to sit down and start planning for my wedding preps...what to buy, guest list, photos....blah blah....There are just so much to plan and start preparing...phew!

Heng Hwa Food

Mich~
I tried nice food over the weekend!! It is at Kitchener Road, and the restaurant is called Pu Tien Restaurant.
The dishes are pretty unique and delicious...This restaurant specialises in "Heng Hwa" food, and we decided to give it a try after reading a food review in the papers. In the end, we did not leave the restaurant with any regret, and I knew that one day, I would come back and patronise this eatery again.
I especially like the fried beehoon and mee sua offered, 'cos they were not oily and had the right texture...If you are game to try new variety of dishes, and do not mind the search for the location of this place, wld recommend u try it out. Actually, the place is quite easy to locate. It is near Mustafa Shopping Centre, but parking there could be a test of your patience, esp during weekends.
During weekends, if you feel like having a change of food, or would like to bring your love ones to new eating places which you hv not explored, this would be one place to head!
Look, these were the dishes ordered by us!
The unique-looking bamboo container was used to hold sumptuous drunken prawns...

Information overload....

Mich~
Had a very tiring and hectic week, so this weekend is the opportunity for me to rejuvenate and rest. This week in office was filled with briefing sessions, loads of information to absorb, and discussions....never-ending. I have piles of notes to read, but never really gotten the chance to sit down and plough through in the office. Actually, it is very hard to really hv time to read up during office hours, and most of the reading would be relegated to "bed-time reading" or weekend tutorials....
Recently, i find myself getting overwhelmed with information, and slowly began to realise how "handicapped" I was in the past. Urrmmn...I am not talking about physical disability, but rather the lack of knowledge in me caused me to feel impeded. Many times, I only have cursory knowledge about certain topics, and this made me feel lost and "blur". Thus, the only way out would be to catch up on reading and absorbing information....
Weekend can pass by very soon, and I really need to make full use of it. For me, the running nose have not really fully recovered, so forgive me if I started to complain about stuff and mumble things, 'cos I am sitting in front of my laptop, feeling groggy from the effects of the medication. Thereafter, there is a need to hunt for presents/gifts, 'cos there are weddings and full month celebration of friends and relatives in the coming months...whosshh!!
Hope I will have a restful and fulfilling weekend......

Runny Nose

Mich~
I've a persistent running nose that doesnt seem to go away..
I'm stuck at home, spending my time idling away..
I brought reading materials home from office, but am not in the best of moods to read those dry, boring, sleepy stuff...oopps..
I guess all I need is to take medicine for the runny nose, and sleep the afternoon away..
Was thinking of meeting my best friend for shopping & drinks, but she couldn't make it. I did not blame her, 'cos it was me who made the last minute appointment with her. In the end, she had to go back to office...poor gal.
Stuck at home, and feeling sick..this is not an appealing way to spend my Sunday..OMG!

Watch your words......

Mich~
Ooppss...I accidentally told a person something which I should not have spoken about. Now, I am regretting what I had said, and realised how important to watch what I say. I guess you would not realise the importance/impact of your words, till you commit the mistake. Maybe not a mistake per se, but just a minor blunder.....actually, it is not something serious, and hopefully, the person will make "light" of what I said. Anyway, it would do more good than harm, in keeping some thoughts or feelings to oneself....Right??
Recently, there was all the hype about the coming IMF 2006, and newspapers are splashed with reports of Singaporeans gearing up for this mega event. I guess the importance is not only in hosting this event, but it would assist in promoting Singapore as a wholesome, vibrant and friendly city. Personally, I am not involved in this event, but is eager to find out more about the preparations ongoing, activities upcoming, and the visitors who are touching down to our city.
>>SJ: Actually, I did not offend the person, just said something which I should have kept to myself..more of like a secret which should be known within me... :)
