Vesak Day...and Long Weekend!
Mich~
On Fri night, the eve of Vesak Day, I went to the Kong Meng San to pray for good health and peace in the coming year. It was really crowded with all the devotees, and many of them were performing the yearly ritual of (san1 bu4 yi1 bai4). I do not know what it is called, but basically, the devotees would walk 3 steps and kneel down to pray. I really admire the people for their tireless efforts, because it is a physically challenging task. I guess with the faith and determination, one can definitely do it! For us? No, we did not take up this challenge. We prayed, and stayed there for a while to walk around and ate their vegetarian food, and went off at about 1 am.
And the long weekend was spent on shopping and more shopping...heehee. At the end of today, my wallet has depreciated by 80 bucks, just on a pair of shoes and a bag. Haha.. Just a trip to Marina Sq cost me this much. But beware, because the parking fees there has increased. On Saturdays, it is no longer $2 per entry as it used to be. I just found from their website that it was $2 for first 2 hours, and $1 for the subsequent half hour. Wow!! Things ar getting more expensive now.....In the end, we paid $4 for parking there, close to 3 hours ++. My ONE and I also bought a slow cooker at C K Tangs, because we needed some new stuff for our new house, and our $50 voucher would expire soon. Hmmn, lucky us, there was a sale at C K Tangs, and all electrical items were less 10%. Not bad, we got a small bargain....(better than nothing)!
What a happy and relaxing long weekend!! Sad to say, it would be ending soon...and the next holiday?? In Aug, I suppose...that is a long wait..... :(
This is my new shoes and bag...keke :) Actually, the bag was quite pricey...$37 leh...(heartache).
